Seven Samurai

This is a reimagined movie poster for the 1954 Akira Kurosawa classic of the same name. I collected objects that I felt emulated textures in the film as well as recreating the iconic "clan" banner (each shape represents a samurai and the farmers who fought together as one). For example, subtle pink flowers were placed to represent cherry blossoms, a very important motif associated with samurai and also Japanese culture; the flower’s short, magnificent bloom is likened to the impermanence of life.
